About the Vineyard/Go Forth Ministries!

GAGE OUTREACH - BIOGRAPHY

Alan and Sandy Gage are Vineyard Church planters in France. Sandy came to France as a single missionary in 1979 with Greater Europe Missions to be on a church planting team in the Paris area. Alan came to get an MA in French two months after getting saved in 1976. That year God called him to serve Him in France and the following year he began attending a seminary outside of Paris (modeled on Fuller). He did a four-year Mdiv program. Sandy and Alan met in 1980 when she came to the church he was attending in Paris to do an internship on staff.

(Sandy grew up at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Santa Ana California.) They were married in California in 1981, after Alan finished seminary.

While Alan was working on his Master’s thesis in the Fuller library, Sandy attended classes in the School of World Missions on church growth and evangelism. She enrolled in the first MC510 class offered "SIGNS WONDERS AND CHURCH GROWTH" taught by John Wimber. Their lives were profoundly changed by John’s teaching. He showed that there is a solid in biblical basis for expecting God to work in power. They spent the next 2 years getting practical ministry training in John’s church.

In the spring of 1984, God called them back to France. They planted a church in Boulogne-sur-mer with the French Baptists. Over the years God miraculously gave them working papers and a job in the French Education system. They believe he wants them to model bi-vocational church planting because it is an essential ingredient to expanding the Kingdom of God in France.

They were actively involved in many ways in organizing the conferences John Wimber and other Vineyard leaders did in France beginning in 1988. Sandy has also worked with VMG to produce two French Vineyard Worship albums, "Dieu fidèle and "Viens!".  On a nationwide level, they helped launch and are actively involved in LTC, a ministry to promote worship in France.

God did a whole series of miracles to get them to Nice in 1998. They are presently laying the foundations for a church that is geared to the 18 to 25 year olds.   John Mumford, the national director of the UK Vineyards, is their overseer.

Alan and Sandy have 4 children: Justin (19), Thomas (18), Elyssa (15) and Leah (10).  Justin has recently returned to France where he believes God is calling him to help develop an outreach to young people.  Thomas is starting college this fall at Trinity Western University, a Christian school in BC Canada.  Elyssa is entering Lycée (high school) and Leah is in her last year of elementary school.
